Servers first night on, and service was on point. Oysters and buffalo shrimp were hands down the BEST in town and at a reasonable price---- I will be returning with LOTS of friends. $6 happy hour pitchers.... The owner came out to check on us and was cute as a button. I hope this joint sticks around longer than its predecessor Beach Buds Chicken.

I was very surprised with this place. From the outside I was expecting Half moon to be kind of a dump. I was ok with that. However, when you walk in it's really a pretty nice space. It's a lot bigger than it looks from the front. Kind of reminds me of a sports bar. The walls are plastered in flat screen TVs, which were all tuned to sports and the Winter Olympics(which are sports-ish), and there's a big wooden bar full of regulars as you walk in the front door. Beers are cheap, with a decent draft list. I started out with a dozen raw oysters. They were delicious, and very fresh. Served with lemon, horseradish and a tasty cocktail sauce. Worked through those in a hurry. They are sold at market price, but the dozen was $10 as of 12/14. For my entree, I had a grilled meatloaf sandwich. Basically served just like a hamburger, but with grilled meatloaf instead with a side of gravy. I probably would have liked a hamburger just as much, but the side of gravy tipped the scales for me. I'm a sucker for gravy, and it's good here. I also tried one of the grilled wings, which was excellent. They are dry rubbed and grilled perfectly. Not dry at all, with just the right amount of heat. I really liked this little hole in the wall, and I'll definitely be back to watch a game sometime.

Oysters, need I say more! Yes I do.... I was pleased to see that the server behind the bar was busy shucking a ton of fresh oysters when I walked in and took a seat! I immediately placed an order for 1 doz raw. My husband also ordered the fish dip. The oysters were great. So salty and delicious! The fish dip was pretty tasty too! So naturally since we were pleased with the food received so far we decided to get some more....I ordered another dozen oysters and we got 1lb of crawfish (can't pass up those tasty buggers!) YUM YUM and more YUM! Everything we ate that night was fantastic! But let me say this, while I definitely enjoyed the food that Half Moon Raw Bar had to offer, the service was not as up to par. The bartenders were friendly but not very attentive. That's the only thing I'd change....pay a little bit more attention especially to the people sitting right in front of you. Other than that, I will definitely be coming back to eat here often!

We were looking for somewhere to got peel and eat shrimp. Found this place using Yelp. What a find! The peel and eat were delicious! We also had shrimp platter and a dozen raw oysters. Shrimp platter came with 2 sides. I got dirty rice and coleslaw. Both delicious! Also, my shrimp were lightly battered which is always a plus.

I love the place. I got a mahi mahi sandwich and cole slaw. It was very good. My brother got the blue cheese hamburger aith zucchini. He said it was very good. I will go back again. The location is on Penman road, not far from Cinotti's Bakery. Curtis Winter is the Owner/Propieter, and he waited on us. Thanks Curtis.

Great first time eating here with the family. We had the absolutely perfect crab cake sandwich, onion rings, best raw oysters in a while, mahi bites, and the turkey/brie melt with mashed potatoes and gravy. Im not a gravy person but it was very tasty. Small and cozy, excellent local find with great owners!

Now I have seen an heard about this place so I had to give it a shot. Well lucky for me I go to the beach pretty regularly. I stopped in a little after lunch time. This is my favorite time. I like it so I can talk o the waitress and see what they think. Will this one doubles as the bartender like most bars with food. I ordered the oysters casino and a portabella mushroom sandwich. Well the oysters were really small maybe that's why they gave me 7 but they had some peppers and onions minced up in them and then some bacon thrown in to. Now on top was the parm cheese sprinkled on but here's the problem they bought the mega bucket of parm at Sam's or The depot. You know the kind that hard sheds and doesn't melt at all. Ok now let's go to the sammie Portabella mushroom with some grilled onions an a load of cheese. A boatload of cheese. The sandwich was pretty good for the first one that I have had. I have made a lot of stuffed mushrooms but never a sammie. It was good a little sweeter then I would normally eat but good. I think the balsamic should have been cooked a smig longer but I not a chef to say. So in all it was a good experience and I will go back when I'm on Penman road and I'm hungry.

Raw bar? Oysters not cold or fresh tasting. Shrimp over cooked and impossible to peel. But the sandwiches and burgers fabulous. More like a local wing &. Burger joint. Ice Cold beer and food good.
